Director, Lucy Sanderson-Gammon, MBA
I'm a Wellington-based career coach helping mid-career professionals who have fallen out of love with their jobs to find meaningful work. I also provide career development for those who want to get ahead at work or make a transition after redundancy.
I am absolutely passionate about career coaching and helping people find what they really want to be doing for a living. Having been through my own career changes and started my own business, I know about the self-imposed barriers that can get in our way if we let them. But it doesn't have to be that hard. Coaching helped me navigate through the transition, and I've helped many others since (see testimonials).
Lucy Sanderson-Gammon is a career coach and consultant. She is owner and director of Luminous Consulting Limited, an approved provider on the All of Government Consultancy Services Panel.
She has a Master of Business Administration (Merit) and a Diploma in Career Guidance (Distinction), as well as qualifications in adult education and training, professional coaching and mentoring, journalism and PR. In her coaching practice, Lucy also uses her Acceptance and Commitment Therapy training, and is a Strong Interest Inventory Certified Practitioner and an Accredited Strengths Profile Practitioner.
Lucy's coaching clients benefit from her own career change and business experience and 20 year work history. She has held senior leadership positions in the public and private sectors, enabling her to assist others in their own career and professional development.
Her MBA research project looked at the barriers to women attaining senior leadership positions and she was invited to deliver an expert commentary session on the topic at the 2nd Public Sector Women in Leadership Summit 2015. The session, Challenging institutionalised gender inequity in public service leadership, was based on her MBA research.
Lucy has also been extensively involved in supporting professional development within the communications industry and was the driving force behind re-establishing the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in New Zealand. She was the inaugural President of the IABC Wellington chapter and, in 2007, received an IABC Excellence Award for "Excellent contribution to the IABC Asia Pacific Region".
Lucy is a Professional Member of the Career Development Association of NZ and has served on a number of panels and boards, including the:
